Frank Bergstrom

Frank H. Bergstrom was born on December 20, 1895 in Monona, Iowa.  His parents were Charles and Jane Bergstrom.  The family moved to Bristow sometime before 1910.  He served in the U.S. Army in World War I.  He was a Private 1st Class in the 16th Infantry, 1st Division and was part of a machine gun company.  He died in France on July 18, 1918 of wounds received in battle.  He is buried in Plot D, Row 23, Grave 13 of the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery in Fere-en-Tardenois, France.  His name is one of the seventeen that appear on the Boyd County World War I memorial in front of the Boyd County courthouse in Butte, Nebraska.
