Pvt. William Weibel

William A. Weibel was born on September 30, 1893 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.  He was the son of William A. Weibel and Elizabeth Dobson Weibel.  He was living in Ewing, Nebraska when he registered for military service on June 5, 1917.  He fought in France during the war and fought against his cousins who were serving in the German army.  He served in Company F of the 58th Infantry.  Private William Anton Weibel was killed in action on August 6, 1918.  He is buried in the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery in Picardie, France.
